Day description

Day 1

A Steamy Welcome Dip and Reykjavík

blå lagunen, island, faciliteter

Upon arrival a shuttle bus will be waiting to take you for a revitalising dip in the Blue Lagoon, giving you an unforgettable start to your business trip. The shuttle bus takes approximately 20 minutes. The Blue Lagoon is an outdoor pool that gets its water directly from geothermal sources as deep as 2000 metres under ground and with water that retains a pleasant temperature of 36–39° all year round.

Relax with your colleagues in beautiful surroundings and energise yourselves before heading on to the capital city to check into your hotel. In the evening, you will be able to enjoy dinner at one of Reykjavík’s many restaurants. You can even sample some of the local nightlife if you have energy and time after your meal.

Day 2

Conference or Meetings

blå lagunen, konferens, grupp

Discuss the future of your business among colleagues in a stimulating and beautiful environment. The day will consist of two conference sessions with a break for lunch. Several hotels offer excellent conference facilities, and there is also a wide range of other options such as the Harpan Concert & Conference Centre or the facilities at the Blue Lagoon.

The evening will once again be free for dinner at one of Reykjavík’s many restaurants. Icelandic cuisine is of the highest class. The ingredients used are fresh and often local. Icelanders eat a lot of fish and lamb and restaurants in the city offer both traditional fare as well as delicacies from all four corners of the world.

Day 3

The Golden Circle and Farewell Dinner

geyser, gyllene cirkeln, island

Any successful conference trip will always combine business with pleasure! The day begins with a visit to some of Iceland’s natural wonders. The tour starts in Reykjavík and takes in the gorgeous Thingvellir National Park. Iceland is located on top of a rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, and Thingvellir is a great place to observe the fault that is forming as the two continents slowly drift apart from one another.

After a quick stop for lunch you can then travel onwards to the most active geyser in Iceland, Strokkur. With its regular eruptions every five minutes, you will have several chances to experience the majestic cascade of water that is thrown up into the sky each time the geyser goes off. The next stop of the day is Gullfoss, a waterfall in two steps that offers visitors the chance to get up close to its mighty rushing waters as they hurtle over the cliff and down into a ravine.

On the way back to Reykjavík you will pass through the town of Hveragerdi where fruits and vegetables are grown in greenhouses heated from geothermal sources. You will be back at the hotel by around 17:00. In the evening, you will be able to enjoy an exquisite dinner together at one of Reykjavík’s many restaurants.

Round off the evening in a cosy pub or on a rocking dance floor. Iceland’s night life is just as hot as its hot springs! Most bars and nightclubs are located closely together in central Reykjavík, so get the gang together one last time and set off on a pub crawl – the perfect way to round off your visit to Iceland and your conference getaway.

WHALE WATCHING

There are few places in the world where nature is more accessible than it is in Iceland. The entire southwestern coast of Iceland is home to many different species of dolphins and whales, whose gracious ripples, jumps and spectacular dives can be witnessed on a short boat trip from Reykjavík. Iceland is also one of the few places on earth where you can catch a glimpse of the largest animal on the planet, the blue whale, whenever the conditions are just right. The duration of a whale watching excursion can vary depending on how far out the whales are located. Expect a few hours of searching out on the open seas. Longer excursions are only offered in the summer between June and August.

A super jeep safari can last anywhere from a few hours to an entire day and can be combined with other activities such as a snowmobile ride, horseback riding, white water rafting and other teambuilding activities. Groups can stop off at any interesting sites they discover along the way.

HORSEBACK TRIPS ON ICELANDIC HORSES

The Icelandic horse is unique thanks to a ban on the import of horses that has applied in Iceland since the 1100s. It is a reliable partner that will take you across the Icelandic terrain and through its stunning natural environment no matter the season or weather conditions. A horseback trip can be enjoyed as part of a broader programme or as an excursion on its own, for just a few hours or over the course of a day, in close proximity to Reykjavík or around larger parts of the island. The trips traverse mountainous slopes, steep cliff faces, desolate lava fields and magnificent ravines. The horses are allocated to match rider experience and we make sure that all participants receive the equipment and instructions they need for the trip.
